I like how your love for me lightly touches every one of my fingers
我知道它在诉说着你 承诺言语
wǒ zhī dào tā zài sù shuō zhe nǐ chéng nuò yán yǔ
I know it's speaking your words of promise

Song Interpretation
Short Summary
Kit Chan's 1996 album track "喜欢你" (Like You) builds its confession entirely out of small physical details, a borrowed coat, a comb, the fog on a car window. It is the sound of early infatuation, where ordinary objects turn into evidence of how much you want to be near someone.
Detailed Insights
Every line in the verses opens with "喜欢你" attached to a different object: his coat, his comb, the mist on a car window, his eyes. Lyricist Liang Wenfu, one of the key figures to come out of Singapore's xinyao songwriting movement, builds the whole first half of the song as a list rather than a story, letting the repetition itself carry the feeling of someone who can't stop noticing small things about the person they like.
The chorus shifts from listing objects to direct motion and touch. "随便你带我到哪里" turns liking someone into a willingness to be led anywhere, while "轻触我每根手指感应" locates the feeling in the body rather than in words. Even the line about tomorrow, "明天也慢慢地慢慢清晰", frames the future as something that only comes into focus once someone else's face is close enough to see.
"喜欢你" was the third single pushed from Chan's 1996 album 伤心, after the title track and "像男孩的男人", and it was backed by a full concert tour across Taiwan that same year. It never had to work hard for attention again either: in 2020 it found a whole new audience when contestants on the Chinese reality show 创造营2020 covered it on air, sending the original recording back up the charts nearly a quarter century after it first came out.
